In a sense, they are the bearers of the magick of dark and light, guardians and prophets, as well as the makings of life and dead and everything in between. Many of them now are said to be made up of mystics of enhanced psi abilities, will allow anyone that shows any sign of psi energy or foresight into their realm if they desired to do so. However, they are a little more than that.

Although there are now more than a hundred members who are a part of the Nyne in the present days, it carries out its name through the nine original players of this creation, each baring a certain sword with immense power and a magickal responsibility that makes up life. They have been around since the beginning of Creation, all the while seeking out any other being with an additional power. Sometimes they can be controlling, others they just allow others into their society with open arms, however, when one decides to turn down their request to join, they can put them through extreme consequences until they do. However, few have been known among their kind to ever let them down.

There are nine original members, as said in the prior passage. Each barriers of a specific form of magick. However, the positioned ranks for each member has been altered to modern enhancements, the following are the initial nine.

Alhana Sansalatos: Element and Bearer of Guard, Protector of the Katana. Not much is known about her, but it is just said that she's a warrior woman who wields the katana and uses it for protection. Alhana is the defense mechanism of the group, able to hold up barriers and keep one from harm, the creator of the ultimate protecting spell, "L'teme D'one."

Fenthias Methias: Element of Life, Bearer of Light Magick, Protector of the Hjordis. Aiding Terra by her side into forming the Nyne. Him and Terra were good allies, though Fenthias has been said to have been not much better than Terra herself. Though he bears more of a humanoid appearance, he is the only one not bothered by Terra's form and is always seen by her side. He has a strange knack of knowing things before others do and also has the ability to call upon animals and any other living organisms to do his bidding.

Greguar Hellenia: Element of Psyche, Bearer of Swords, Protector of the Broadsword. An empath and a valuable member of the Nyne, although he had gone mad years ago due to the Soul Eater that had slowly taken away his sanity from his being around Scarchet for so long. After he healed he grew a tendency to vanish every now and again and appears from nowhere, although his vacant stare shows that he is still recovering from his loss of mind several centuries ago.

Kalasan Umbregar: Element and Bearer of the Elementals, Protector of the Duo Daggers. The rebel, pretty much. The only reason why Kalasan was ever allowed to form the Nyne was because of his immense strength and abilities, and for the fact that he was too stubborn to give up. He was an ex-con artist during his early years of being a Nyne, using his powers to get himself a little bit ahead of the mortal realm. However, when Terra discovered this, she punished him greatly. Kalasan was the only member of the Nyne who was impeached out of his position.

Kaligar Rasmusein (Alias: Miharu Koeko): Element of Sound, Bearer of Pentacles, Protector of the Claymore, new possessor of the Soul Eater that had been presented to him by Hunter Wolfgang. Though he is now an outcast of the Nyne, refusing to go about their ways in such a mindless manner though he remains a kind and gentle man although he is more capable of pulling up a cold and arrogant mask most of the time. In truth he is over hundreds of thousands of years old, he manages to keep a low profile by borrowing the identities of others throughout their lifetime with the appearance of a youth. He used to be the keeper of the Pentacles, the protector of the protecting magick as well as the element of Sound. He is very powerful when it comes to barriers, and defensive magick, as well as curses and hexes to defend oneself and many other ways to duel. He made sure he kept all the recent thousand years of living into a worth while process, even by becoming a teacher altogether though he wasn't in position for long due to some business he had to attend for Orpheus of the Nyne.

Orpheus Zephinia: Element and Bearer of Sight, Protector of the Katana of Life (Sword Cane). Although Orpheus is blind, he is capable of catching prophecies and seeing through the eyes of another at will. Ever since he had lost his sight his visions had become much stronger than he ever could. He lives even in the recent days due to the power of the sword given to him, the Katana of Life, disguised as a cane which he carries around to aid him through his travels.

Scarchet Arthios: Element and Bearer of the Psi, Former Protector of the Soul Eater. One of the more powerful players, for this was the first telekinetic person in known history. He started out being able to bend spoons, and metal objects, and then later learned how to levitate. He is the father of the unknown daughter of Sheika, though died many years ago after the birth of the child. He kept his daughter in a preserved space, so that she may live long even after his death. Scarchet wished for a bright future for his daughter, but Sheika Forthlasa Nos didn't allow it to happen. Seemingly, years after his demise,  the child was lost due to a loop hole that appeared in the center of the preservative.

Sheika Forthlasa-Nos: Element of Music, Bearer of the Song, Protector of the Soul Slasher. She lures those with psi energy with the power of her song, "Forever Eden." She is a valuable player in the Nyne, for without her there would be no possible way to hand down their powers to another generation or call about the Death Children. Like the others Sheika is an immortal being, said to have once had two daughters, but lost them several years ago. She sends her laments through song.

Terra Gennisius: Element of Darkness, Bearer of Dark Magick, Protector of the Alchera Blades, and created it with the aid of Fenthias and Sheika, who runs the Nyne in the most recent days. The bearer of light magick has the ability to heal, making them a useful player in the prophecy foretold by their mystic. Terra is the most feared of the Nyne for her strange distorted appearance, and is often very rash in making decisions. Over the passed millenniums her age has caused her to become cold and merciless towards others, and when she comes down to decisions, once Terra wants something she stops at nothing to get it.
