"Oh great.... Just another boring rant by the author."

Sad way to end a story, ne?

To start things off, I'm guessing that there is so much of a thing going on with "sins," it's sort of like a Christian-y like story, but let's get this straight, I'm not Christian! I think the religion is deep though and thus I tend to use some Christian-like themes for my plots, which I do think makes the story deeper. Instead of using the word "crimes" which could get old and annoying after a while, I used "sins," in which in some religions, murder is the ultimate sin there is, as well as crime, hence why both of the words are sort of combined in the story.

And then there's the fact that I wrote in many times how different Ravine is, also, and since it is sort of ironic that.... "Ho, what's this? What's up with this Ravine-chika and why is she so damn whiny?!" Lets get one thing straight, if your whole family died because you were being under the influence of someone and had no control over it, you'd be whiny too. However, sometimes Ravine can be so aggravating I would like to slap her right across the face, along would a good set of other characters of mine. *cough* ~Rei~ *cough, cough*

Now, let's avert our attention onto...the characters!

Eyrie was...well, Eyrie. There isn't much to say about her, other than I think there might have been something going on between her and Grayson before, because they did know each other, not said, but it was implied. This was told when Grayson had said: "Good to see you again, Eyrie. Too bad there wasn't a way to finish what we started...." Started may possibly imply that there was a relationship between the two beforehand as well.

And while we're at it, I feel kind of bad how little Grayson is in the story, since he dies at the end and yet he seems like such a vital character. Pretty much he's there to remind Ravine that she's a sinner, and sends her some messages that Ravine had not considered about before, such as killing all of those people was extremely selfish, and Ravine was aware of this, yet she sometimes forgets her selfishness. Grayson seems just like one of those kind of characters with issues, and he was sort of like Ravine's "other half," just someone who took a different road.

Well, depressing as it may be, I didn't make it end this way because I am a complete and utter bitch, such as when good ol' Vinny died, since normally I give my characters some sort of long speech before they die, and all he said was "Both!" (Unless if you count the screaming in rage as well.) Kind of sad once you think about it, but I didn't make him go like that because I didn't like him all that much, but it was more along the lines as I wanted to try something different, and that not everyone gets a chance to make a hellova long speech before they die, especially if they're a wee bit headstrong like Vince was. But I liked Vincent, he had to have been the most humanely developed character of the entire story, I always pictured him as some sort of a gothic punk, myself. I also oblique that he was sort of a free-spirited character, since when he kissed Ravine, he had told her that it was totally friendly and meant nothing to him whatsoever. Now, did it mean something to him truly and he was just lying, I don't know, and even if I did, I wouldn't tell.

My overall view of the story is that I think it should have ended this way. Ravine Jaxon isn't a good person like most generic storyline are (since instead of trying to protect people, she's trying to take the lives of the ones who'd taken hers, and she's pretty pissed about that, as well as the while idea that Ravine had lost her family, y'know? In a way, she is sort of selfish, but its more for redemption rather than pride.), nor is she really a bad person because she isn't proud of what she's done, this is pretty much shown at the end. She atones for the bad things that she's done, but she still isn't the goody-goody like some protagonists are, neither does the story end with her being all like: "Oh, well I've learned my lesson. Time to start anew! Yupyup, my life is great now!" The problem is still not solved, and Ravine still left with the feelings of lost, abandonment, and dispair. Nothing has changed really, just that Ravine is a bit more messed up before, after all the people that she has killed.

No good was won, but in the end, Ravine was left with more pain. Moral of the story, kids: Killing is bad! Gee, like we didn't already know that one before! However, Ravine learned a vital lesson when she found that even by killing people and using the disguise of her crimes as "revenge," it only came back and stabbed her in the back in the end, for what she'd done she thought would have been to end her suffering, turned out to cause quite more of a trouble in the end after all.

In final words, all I have to say is: "Hey, at least I managed to avoid a 'save the world' plot!"
