Okay, first off I'd like to let you know that this "song fic" contains some major spoilers which concerns the story, so I'd advise that you'd read the story before you read this, otherwise it might be a little confusing. Long, I know, but deal with it. I didn't work on this story for such a long time and developing it and whatnot for it to be short, okay?

[ commentary ]
I'd had the image and idea of this stuck in my head for the longest time. Whenever I listen to the song Angel by Stabbing Westward I always came into mind with Rei and Orion, and always had this whole image in my head of what it would be like if there had ever been some sort of "music video" made for them one of these days. I wrote this once before but it ended up getting lost when I had my computer cleaned so I just redid it once more, so here is the "music video"/"song fic" for my beloved couple, Rei Emiko and Orion Westwood.

"Angel" by Stabbing Westward
A tribute song-piece dedicated to
Rei Emiko and Orion Westwood
Written by Reverie Nightengale

[ As the beginning starts the scenes are switched between the instrumental beats, starting off with the explosion induced from within Chicago, Rei's eye opening as she slowly awakens. Then it switches into other scenes such as her being taken by the collar of her jacket and slammed into the wall by Bekah while shes being yelled at by her, other scenes of the Winged Henkei taking into the skies, and lastly the first time Orion awakens into the conscious realm to see Rei for the first time. ]

"I believed that love was sacred,"

[ A youthful (early twenties.) Orion is scene at the funeral of his fiancé, holding a magnolia in his hand as he lays it upon her casket. ]

"As I dove blindly into her sea."

[ Reis solitary form is seen wandering down the street of Chicago. ]

"You see, that warm embrace felt more like drowning,"

[ The first time Rei and Orion held each other into an embrace upon the overpass is shown, the ruins of Chicago is seen in the background. ]

"As endless waves crashed over me."

[ The wandering silhouette of Rei that was previously seen now looks up into the air to see a wolven Henkei starting to dive down towards her, claws out. ]

"She was an insatiable black hole;
Feeding off my mind and off my soul."

[ Inside the psyche of Rei is her bare form curled up in the masses of obscurity, allowing herself to be sucked in by her memories and pessimistic thoughts. ]

"I find love humiliating;
Sick and desperate need that drains me,"

[ After the first time Rei and Orion kiss, she is seen with an angered look upon her facade, glaring at Orion and quickly lashing her fist across his face, her strike upon him forming into a harsh punch. ]

"God I hope I never feel again...."

[ Once more in Rei's psyche with her curled in the abyss of her mind; a tear slips from her emerald eye. ]

"But I've never been loved by an angel.
I've never felt anything so pure."

[ Rei is drifting underneath the rapids, slipping into the undertone when she is suddenly caught into a catching embrace by Orion, coming to her aid just before she starts to drown. As she is suddenly released he takes her protectively into his arms as they glide to the surface of the river. ]

"I've never been loved by an angel,
Until tonight your heaven filled my room...."

[ The two are found laying beside each other along the bank of the river, Orion still holding onto Rei defensively as Aeden begins to approach from the distance. ]

"She showed me love could lift me higher;

With a kiss she repaired these broken wings."

[ Quickly it is seen shifting the images between Orion and Rei's first kiss upon the rooftop of the motel, to the first image of Rei taking Lupis's form, her large batlike wings beat the air as she slowly raises above the ground. ]

"She revived my fading spirit;
Restored my faith in everything...."

[ Proceeding on the balcony of Rei's room, she moves over to Orion, looking up at him now with genuine compassionate emotion as she reaches up and rests her hand upon his face. Orion smiles and leans over to her to kiss her again. ]

"I have never felt I had a home;"

[ Once more the wandering form of Rei is walking down the street of Chicago, surrounded now by the image of when it used to be filled with life. Cars pass by and people are casually walking passed her, and Rei shifts her eyes and moves as she watches the fragments of her memoirs walk by, oblivious to her presence. ]

"Even in a crowd I felt alone."

[ Following Rei observing the passing crowd, She quickly looks up with widened eyes and finds her environs tearing around her back into the city Chicago now became; a mass of deserted ruins. ]

"I'd almost given up on life;
I'm fully determined now,"

[ Rei is now standing before the altar where Akaiokami had awaited her, looking at him with a resolute manifestation as she is seen yelling at him while he remains calm and collective. ]

"And never thought I'd ever feel again...."

[ The Winged Henkeis rush over them while Rei and Orion are laying upon the street to avoid getting hit by the passing Henkeis overhead. After she'd spoken to him she leans in close to him and holds onto Orion tightly, though the pained expression on her visage is still made shown. ]

"But I've never been loved by an angel.
I've never felt anything so pure."

[ Orion takes a final look at the unconscious, heavily bleeding Rei at the end of the train, looking at her with concern just before he turns to go outside with Aeden ahead of him. ]

"I've never been loved by an angel,
Until tonight your heaven filled my room...."

[ Passing slowly through the bedroom of Rei and Orion, where they are seen on the motel divan, Rei's bare back turned to Orion while her tattoo on her spine is cleanly seen. While Orion is still resting under his sheets Rei's eyes shift towards the window to watch the thin clouds pass through the silvery glow of the moon. ]

"I believed in nothing,"

[ Seen from outside the streams of rains drain down the window of the shelter in which Orion and Rei move to so that they could retreat from the rain. Rei's head is hung low as she looks more emotionally indignant than ever. Orion is speaking.

Orion: "...some believe that the rain comes from the angels in heaven."

Rei: "Why are they crying?" ]

"But you believe in me.
I thought that life was worthless...."

[ Orion: "I wouldn't know."

Rei: "So you do not believe in angels."

Orion now looks up at her with a more heart filled expression as he smiles. ]

"But you told me I'm a star...."

[ Orion: "I believe in you. To me that is more than enough to believe in." ]

[ As Rei's eyes widened and the instrumental solo picks in, within the next second the window shatters and the spider Henkeis come and envelop around her. She is seen being thrown into the skies within the grasp of the Henkei, reaching desperately out to Orion as she watches him being attacked by the spiders from all side. His body looking frail as they stab him slowly until he is no longer in sight. Rei screams and cries, tightly closing her eyes and reaching out to him though her attempt to save him is in vain. ]

[ The last few seconds of the solo comes to a close before the lyrics start again, and within those final moments Rei is seen in Lupis's form, her almost-broken wings beating the air violently as she takes rapid flight towards Akaiokami who is hovering in the air, her sword-hand reaching out towards him and as she makes the sudden impale and the blade of his sword goes through her chest, the crimson light envelopes the city of Chicago. ]

"But I've never been loved by an angel;
I've never felt anything so pure."

[ When the light becomes more fervently the militia soldiers down within the battlefield are looking up at what is happening to Rei and Akaiokami, shielding their eyes while the last segment of Henkei begin to fall to their knees and ultimately die. The people of E.R.O.S. are watching while Teji rushes to the scene as it happens, looking up at Rei in horror as she falls. ]

"I've never been loved by an angel,
Until tonight your heaven filled my room."

[ While the heavily wounded Rei is falling through the air her eyes gaze upward, seeing Orion's ethereal face peering through the light. She reaches up to take his hand as she mouths the words into a whisper across her pale, smiling lips: "You waited for me...." ]

[ As the song starts to bring to a close quickened images of Rei and Orion are seen, such as with them holding hands and ultimately their reincarnation as wolves are standing over the edge of the crag which Rei had seen in her dreams. Their milieu shimmers into the memorial surrounding of the altar in which Rei had been killed and Aeden drops the magnolia down upon the concrete ground. He stops and turns to see the wolves from the distance with Teji staring at Aeden beside them. ]

[ The wolves turn and they start to walk off while Teji and Aeden are shown staring at each other seeing that it had been two years since they had last met. Finally when there is sudden silence the scene goes back to the crag where the transparent forms of Rei and Orion stand, holding each others hands. The last image is then revealed of the magnolia over the memorial post which Aeden was standing next to, snow falling down from the heavens. ]
